Residenza Favaro: Gruppo 5’s bespoke excellence in the heart of Venice
Stylistic continuity and lagoon references
The design concept, created by architect Giovanni Smiderle in collaboration with Lorenza Bozzetto, focused on visual coherence with the historic spaces of Hotel Ala. Gruppo 5 translated this vision by selecting materials and textures that evoke the splendor of the Serenissima: technical silks, velvets, and wallpapers with organic patterns that play with the reflections of Venetian waters. The bedroom area was conceived as a sensory sanctuary, where every element — from the furniture to the drapes — contributes to an atmosphere of understated opulence. It is not just about furnishing, but about extending the soul of the original palazzo into every new room.
The challenge of bespoke design in a historic context
Working in a historic palazzo in Venice means confronting structural irregularities. Out-of-square walls, exposed beam ceilings, and millimeter-precise spaces demanded a “total custom” approach. Gruppo 5 engineered furnishing solutions capable of adapting seamlessly to these complexities, optimizing every centimeter without compromising on aesthetics.
- • Technical tailoring: Every furnishing element, particularly the wardrobe units, was shaped to follow the unique contours of the wall structure.
- • Lighting Design: An integrated lighting system that highlights the wallpaper textures and the rich materiality of the wood.
- • Venetian Logistics: From production in Zanè to transport by water, through to final installation: a turnkey management approach that guarantees perfection in every detail.
Beyond furnishings: a wellness experience
From our headquarters in Zanè (Vicenza), we provided not only the design and production of bespoke furniture, but also deep expertise in textiles and lighting design. The result at Residenza Favaro is a series of spaces that envelop the guest, where Gruppo 5’s design becomes the bridge between timeless elegance and the comfort of the future.
