Luxury and innovation in 5-star hospitality: the renovation of Hotel La Scala di Ferro in Cagliari

Cagliari is preparing to welcome the renovated La Scala di Ferro, the city’s largest 5-star hotel, now owned by the Mambrini family. This iconic building is undergoing an ambitious historic preservation project, both exterior and interior, masterfully executed by the Vairano architecture studio of Turin.

Renovation and preservation: historic elegance meets the technologies of the future

Led by architect Matteo Patriarca, the project focuses on preserving historic features while integrating modern comfort and technology. Under the direction of designer Eng. Maria Sias, together with Dr. Carolina Mambrini, the interiors of La Scala di Ferro have been transformed into an unprecedented luxury experience within a unique atmosphere blending modernity and opulence.

Gruppo 5 was selected for the bespoke production of all furnishings for the suites and guest rooms, reception, restaurant and breakfast room, and conference room. Artisanal quality will be the hallmark of every detail, confirming the commitment to excellence that characterizes Gruppo 5’s strictly Made in Italy craftsmanship.

The hotel’s 97 rooms, divided into Suites, Junior Suites, Premium, and Superior rooms, offer an uncompromising luxury experience. The suites feature a predominant use of gold and black, with bold statement wallpapers and striking headboards that dominate the space. Colorful armchairs create a vivid contrast, while fine materials and meticulously crafted details ensure a stay of maximum comfort. The renovation of Hotel La Scala di Ferro, set to open its doors in 2025, is destined to restore this historic building to its former glory while tailoring it to the needs of the modern traveler. A project that merges tradition and innovation, promising to become a benchmark for luxury hospitality in Cagliari.
